Broward County Council

UDT, SEALS and FROGMEN

The May 14th meeting at the Tropical Acres Restaurant was all about UDT, FROGMEN and SEALS and couldn’t have been timelier. The guest speaker was Capt. Michael Howard, USN (Ret.), Executive Director of the National Navy UDT-SEAL Museum and Memorial and a former Navy SEAL

He took us on an historical walk through time from when frogmen had their humble beginning in WWII at Fort Pierce where the museum now stands, to the Somali Pirate incident and how the SEALS performed in bringing it to a successful conclusion.  The life boat will soon be on display in the museum.  The Fort Pierce UDT-SEAL Museum is just a few miles north of Palm Beach and well worth the drive.
