The USS Cole returned to her home, the place she was
commissioned, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla on December 5th. She
returned from a deployment to the Middle East chasing
pirates, searching for terrorists and keeping the sea
lanes safe. Her arrival was covered by local television
station, Channel 10.

The welcome Home Party for all hands and everyone
supporting the Navy was held at Briny Riverfront Pub in
Ft. Lauderdale. There was free food, drinks and live
music. It was an excellent party with representatives of
Broward Navy Days, the Broward County Navy League and
the other Navy League councils in the area. Gifts were
exchanged and a ship’s plaque was presented to Mike and
Aileen Brennen, the pub owners, for their support and
patriotism.
During the visit, the USS Cole's crew members
participated in the local Pearl Harbor Remembrance at
Coast Guard Station Ft. Lauderdale. |
