Broward County Council president Bill Weiler

Vadm. John Cotton, USN, Chief of Naval Reserve visits
Miami Naval Operations Support Center, was the featured
speaker at the roundtable event. The discussion
panelists included Vadm. Cotton, his Command Master
Chief, Cdr. Russ Larrett, USN, Commanding Officer NOSC,
Capt. Bill Weiller, USN (Ret.), President of the
Broward County Council of the Navy League of the
United States, two omsbudsmen and five sea cadets.
Topics included the Sea Cadet program and the myriad
opportunities it offers and Navy League support of the
Sea Cadet program and JROTC programs.
More than three hundred reservists were assembled at
Drill Hall to hear Vadm. Cotton USN comments regarding
the integration of Seagoing Services in our global
struggle with Islamic Terrorism.
Vadm. Cotton, as part of his program, requested that
Bill Weiller, president of the Broward County Council of
the Navy League, address the group on the relationship
between the Navy League and our Sea Services,
emphasizing the special relationship the Broward County
Council has to reservists assigned to NOSC units.
