Navy League Broward Council Involved in Community


The Navy League Broward County Council is a civilian organization dedicated to support the men and women of the sea services, provide assistance to sea service families and support youth programs.

The council welcomes military when they come ashore in Fort Lauderdale and work to educate the community about the sea services.

Monthly meetings include guest speakers. Most recently speakers included RADM Harry Harris, USN, Director of Operations, USS SOUTHCOM and the work they do to curtail sea traffic of drugs, terriorism, piracy and transportation of human cargo in the Southern Seas.

Broward Sheriff Al Lamberti who spoke about the challenges of a budget impacted by a sagging economy and the rise of gangs throughout South Florida.

In June the guest speaker is slated to be Col. Alan West, U.S. Army (Ret) who will speak on current conflicts, the war on terrorism and national security.
